UHSM is committed to ensuring accessibility of its website for people with disabilities, and is actively working towards increasing the accessibility and usability of its website in order to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.

We have purchased Textic for the new website, which is a revolutionary piece of software that can read pages and documents out loud for visually impared visitors to our site. It can also translate text into other languages. This will be added to the site in the near future.

For improved visibility you may be able to increase the size of text.

Internet Explorer users

Go to View > Text Size and select the appropriate font size e.g. larger.

Mozilla Firefox users

Go to View > Text Size and select the appropriate font size e.g. Increase, Decrease or Normal, or press 'Ctrl' and '+' together to increase the font size or 'Ctrl' and '-' to decrease the font size.

Netscape users

Go to View > Increase Font.

You can access the menu links by pressing ALT and the shortcut key simultaneously, releasing then pressing enter or click with the mouse. The shortcut keys are indicated in brackets.

Downloading files

All Portable Document Format (PDF) documents on this website open in new window. PDF documents are indicated with the PDF icon PDF icon. These can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. PDF files provide the easiest way to view and print a document that looks as close to the original document as possible. A free copy of Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from Adobe's site.
