UHSM Apprenticeships scheme
UHSM is committed to offering development and learning opportunities for bands 1 to 4 through the National Apprenticeship framework
Many jobs in the NHS don’t require a University qualification. UHSM Vocational Learning Centre, previously known as UHSM NVQ Academy, is now providing the Apprenticeship programmes. This provides on the job training as well as opportunity for further learning for full and part time staff on bands 1 to 4. No matter what age you started within the NHS you’ll have access to extra training and be given the opportunity to progress within our organisation.
Apprenticeships are for people looking for a job that enables them to carry on learning, and for those already in employment who want to gain further qualifications. The Apprenticeships in the NHS normally range from 12 to two years in duration depending on the framework. A higher Apprenticeship will take between eighteen months and two years.
UHSM’s first intake for the Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 in Health commenced on the 19th October. This comprised of our current staff with an Agenda for Change contract. Over the next few months we will be commencing further cohorts at a level 2 in Health which will be targeting the existing staff and new recruits in December from the local community.
It is anticipated this will progress to all pathways currently delivered by your Vocational Learning centre. Watch this space for a regular update on the implementation.
