Health Incident Command Programme

The UHSM Academy and Manchester Metropolitan University have collaborated to offer a unique programme for healthcare professionals working in the area of major incident and disaster management.

This exciting and ground breaking programme is a part time modular distance learning course and was developed here at UHSM in partnership with MMU.  The programme team with funding from the UK Department of Health have developed an educational programme which provides healthcare professionals working in the field of major incident response with the opportunity to gain knowledge and academic qualifications in Health Incidenct Command.

The course is hosted within a purpose built virtual learning environment developed by GödelTechnologies and the programme team.  Online lectures, discussion forums and the opportunity for independent learning and research form the basis of the educational methodology.  This flexible programme offers students the option of a post graduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Health Incident Command

Current students are from a wide variety of backgrounds including doctors, nurse’s paramedics and ambulance officers.
