Maternity Department lead the way with an electronic patient record

The Maternity department at UHSM has implemented a new IT system named Evolution. This has enabled clinical information relating to maternity care to be electronically recorded and will bring the following benefits to the service and the Trust:

• Increased patient safety
• Improved data quality
• Statistical reporting capabilities
• Reduction in duplication and effort
• Effective/efficient use of resources

What does it mean for you?

The discharge letter and supporting documentation is changing as it will now be produced directly from the system. You will receive more detailed information associated to the delivery and birth than you currently get on the manual form.
