Trafford governors
Peter Turnbull
"Between 1978-1990 I served as a lay member and Vice-Chairman of Trafford Health Authority; from 1990-1992 I was Chairman of the Manchester FHSA and retain a keen interest in health care issues.
As a long-standing patient of Wythenshawe Hospital, receiving excellent care, I know the hospital very well including its great strengths – and its weaknesses! I consider it a privilege to play a valuable part in the work of the Trust and in representing the views of the people of South Trafford."
Jane Reader
"I am passionate about the NHS and strongly believe in the freedom of Foundation Trusts to deliver high quality care. I have been the Chair of the Membership Development Committee, and as an active member of the Chairman’s Advisory Group I understand how to represent colleagues and members.
Before my retirement I was employed at Wythenshawe for over 35 years as a Cardiac Technician and then as a founder member of the Cardiothoracic Transplant team. Being able to continue my support as a Governor has been important to me."
Marguerite Prenton
"I was a nurse in the NHS for 42 years. The role of the Governor I see as a link between the hospital & the people it serves. Having moved from employment in the NHS I can see things from the perspective of the hospital and of the patients in an objective way."
