Rio Ferdinand opens new Postnatal Unit at UHSM
"It is such an honour for us to officially open this new Unit. We have been so grateful for the care and attention we received previously with the births of our two boys, and we know we will get the same first class service when our third child in born in April. We think of Wythenshawe as our hospital."

England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and his wife Rebecca have officially opened UHSM's new Postnatal Unit.
The couple are expecting their third child in April and, once again, have chosen the Hospital's maternity unit to deliver their baby.
"It has to be Wythenshawe Hospital for us. The staff have looked after us brilliantly twice before and we know we are in safe hands. We were delighted to be asked to make the official opening. This is our little way of saying thank you", explains Rebecca.
After unveiling a plaque, they met staff over afternoon tea were given a guided tour of the new facilities.
The new postnatal facilities are part of a £20million refurbishment programme to upgrade maternity services which is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.
