UHSM trial new StartHere information service

We have been chosen as one of only three hospitals in the country to pilot a new service to help patients, visitors, staff and the public seek out the information they might need at the touch of a button.

NHS Choices is working with StartHere and UHSM to help provide valuable information to people who might not readily be able to access it. It could be lack of skills preventing those who could benefit most from getting what they need. That's why this new service, which is easy to use and completely FREE, could be such a lifesaver.

There will be two kiosks - one in our outpatients department and one at Wythenshawe Forum library - to encourage our links with the community we serve. People will be encouraged to tell us what they think of the service, and how it can be improved.

We launched the service in the ERC, with the Chairman, Felicity Goodey and Deputy Chief Nurse, Alison Kelly and Sarah Hamilton-Fairley from StartHere all speaking to attendees about the importance of information sharing, and about how the service will provide local people with access to many different services.
