UHSM maintains highest standard in national assessment

It is a pleasure to write on behalf of the NHSLA and its team of independent risk management assessors, to congratulate University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust on retaining Level 3 compliance with the NHSLA Risk Management Standards for Acute Trusts. This is a considerable achievement, of which the Board and staff of the trust can be justly proud."

Steve Walker
NHSLA Chief Executive

UHSM is proud to announce that, following independent assessment, we have maintained the highest rating possible against a range of organisational, clinical and health & safety risks - putting us in the top 5% of all NHS trusts.

The National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA) has awarded UHSM Level 3 - the highest level of achievement - in its assessment.

The standards are designed to improve safety and quality of care. As a result, our patients and staff can have more confidence in the services we provide and, as an extra benefit, we will also be eligible for a discount of 30% on clinical negligence insurance which will help protect funds for patient care.

UHSM's Chief Executive Julian Hartley says "This is a great achievement, and reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. Patient care is at the heart of all we do, and this is further evidence that ours is a hospital serving the needs of its community.
