
UHSM researcher wins best practice award

UHSM researcher Dr Michelle Harvie has been awarded the prestigious Best Practice Award for 2010 by the Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO), the UK’s foremost charitable organisation dedicated to the understanding and treatment of obesity. She accepted her award at a glittering celebration lunch in London recently by ASO Chairman, Dr Jason Halford.
Afterwards she said: “I am really thrilled to accept the best practice award on behalf of my team of researchers and collaborators at the Genesis Prevention centre specifically Mary Pegington, Professor Anthony Howell, Prof Gareth Evans in the Genesis Prevention Centre and Helen Sumner in biochemistry."
