Pupils from Newall Green High School visit UHSM to learn about life in the workplace

"It was really nice to meet Lucy and Estelle  - they're very intelligent and likeable young ladies, and a credit to Newall Green High School. I predict big things for them in the future -  they are proof that the next generation are going to be high achievers!"

Susan Osborne
Communications & Engagement Director

Twenty year nine pupils from Newall Green High School are this week visiting UHSM this week to gain some experience of life in the workplace.

Throughout the week, the pupils are meeting with various departments across the hospital to gain an insight into what working here is like, the skills we use on a day-to-day basis, and how we work together as 'one talented team'.

Pictured above are Lucy and Estelle with the Communications team - Joe, Laura and Susan. The team has a partnership with local station Wythenshawe FM, on which we do our weekly hospital radio show. Presenter Mike George came to interview the students about their week at UHSM, and what they hope to achieve in the future.

The tables were then turned, and the students were able to interview the Communications team to find out what the department does, how the team works together, and the backgrounds of each person.
