“I love life, and thanks to Mr Nizar Yonan and the fantastic efforts of the transplant team I have got my mine back.”

"I cannot thank UHSM enough. The care offered to me was simply wonderful, and they continue to support me now."

Peter Goldrick tells the story of how a heart transplant at UHSM has transformed his life.

"Not long ago, I had been a fit and healthy person, but I had a heart attack out of the blue when running to the gym of all places! After that happened, I started to decline rapidly. I had to have a pacemaker, and struggled increasingly with day-to-day tasks. Even breathing became a difficulty - I thought my time was coming to an end."

"I was eventually referred to UHSM, and I had my operation on September, 21 2008. That's when everything changed for me. After building my strength back up, assisted by the wonderful support of Mr Nizar Yonan and his staff, I returned to the gym - and I now feel younger than I did before I had the operation!"
