Ward F9

F9 is a 20 bedded ward .The ward has major head and Neck patients as well as elective Hip and Knee peplacements. Our admissions may come in the night before surgery, but usally come in on the day of surgery.

The day following surgery, you will be seen by a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists review patients every week day. Patients are usally reviewed every day by doctors.

You will be referred to the occupational therapist who will order you any equipment that you might need. Knee replacements usally stay in for 5 days and hip replacements stay in for 7 days.

On day of discharge you will be asked to wait in the day room or be transferred to the dischage lounge will waiting for your medications or an ambulance. Medications for discharge can take 4 hours to arrive on the ward once they have been ordered.

We arrange an ambulance for the patients who have had Hip surgery.We order them on day of discharge. Due to demand of ambulances this may take several hours to arrive.

If you are arriving by car, you should park in either Car Park A (the main car park at the front of the hospital), or the Outpatients car park.
