Marie Kirwan
Marie was shortlisted for the 2011 UHSM 'Researcher of the Year' award, as the judges were hugely impressed with her pneumonia study work. Well done Marie!
Marie is a very dynamic and hugely experienced nurse who is practical and down to earth and really brings research to life.
She has worked on numerous projects, including being a Principle investigator for a diagnostic research study for a rare type of pneumonia which is awaiting NICE approval and has led the pilot project for Outpatient Antimicrobial therapy at UHSM – which aims at keeping patients at home and out of inpatient beds.
Marie is involved in many more projects and by being a strong leader she influences others in a charming, evocative and personable way making research lively, real and fun to be involved in. Marie is also a tremendous team player and always willing to get involved in new initiatives.
She is an asset to UHSM, and is a shining example of the level of dedication our staff have to their roles.
