Diabetes

About us

The team consists of consultants, diabetes specialist nurses, dietitians, podiatrists, and other medical staff who offer help and support and promote self-management with the aim of reducing diabetes-related complications. We receive tertiary referrals for problematic hypoglycaemia because of the aligned Islet Transplantation service and have established a reputation for excellence in Type 1 Diabetes care including the use of diabetes technology. We have links with the University of Manchester, so there might be a student at your appointment.

Our outpatient services are based in the Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism Centre in the Peter Mount Building but we also have a 7-day inpatient diabetes service.
